For upgrade tools and instructions on how to upgrade, go through the following forum thread:

Note to others: I had to reset my receiver by shorting the backup battery pins after upgrading it for the receiver to become fully functional. Resetting by doing that is explained here:

RE: new WAAS satellites not being picked up
Dear Sir:

236V5 is two chip (old)version.
According to SiRF,
There might be potential problem update to the latest V3.2 firmware.
V3.2 firmware is for single chip SiRF III now.

Holux UK has financial problem and is no longer our reseller now,
Please do not use the software they provide.
You can send the unit back for update(replace) if you do need the support for new WAAS satellites.

Thanks!
Anthony

Can't you just tell by serial number, then send me the firmware? The serial number is 236-61700891. Can you tell me what issues the 3.2 firmware takes care of? Does it make WAAS actually work? I don't want to have to send it all the way to Taiwan, just to have it come back and still not have WAAS working. Doesn't the firmware have release notes that you can send me that wouild tell me what bug fixes have been implemented?

The firmware that I used to do an update in the past is found here:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=42774
It is version 236V5

Can you send me the release notes of the 3.2 firmware so I can see what issues have been addressed with this firmware, before I take the trouble to send it back in for service? I have done a firmware update of a Holux receiver, not needing to do a short circuit of it, why is this one different?

The two new WAAS satellites, #48 and #51 never show up, even though they should be much higher in the sky from my location in the Midwest United States. I've been reading that some people say the Holux needs to supply updated firmware to see the new WAAS satellites. My firmware is version 3.1, but I've read that there is a version 3.2 that might correct this WAAS issue.
